What Is Smart Glass?
Smart Glass is switchable privacy glass that changes between clear and frosted states using electrical control.
A PDLC, or Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal, layer is laminated between two panes of tempered glass, creating an integrated privacy glass panel.
When power is switched on, the liquid crystals align and the glass becomes clearer. When power is switched off, the crystals scatter light and the glass returns to its frosted privacy state.
Unlike permanently frosted glass, blinds or curtains, Smart Glass allows privacy to be controlled only when required.

What is Smart Glass and how does it work?
Smart Glass is switchable privacy glass that changes between clear and frosted states using electrical control. What is the difference between Smart Glass and Smart Film?
Smart Glass is a new laminated glass panel with the PDLC layer laminated inside it. Smart Film is applied to the surface of suitable existing glass. Smart Glass suits projects where glass is being replaced or newly installed, while Smart Film suits retrofitting glass you are keeping.
Does Smart Glass require electricity?
Yes. Smart Glass requires electrical power to remain in its clear state. When power is switched off, the glass returns to its frosted privacy state. Power supply and switch positions are planned during the site assessment.
What is the difference between 0505 and 0606 Smart Glass?
0505 uses 5mm tempered glass on both sides of the PDLC layer, while 0606 uses 6mm tempered glass on both sides. The suitable construction depends on panel size, installation conditions and project requirements.
What do 085, 087 and 091 mean?
They indicate the clear-state clarity of the Smart Glass. 085 provides 85% clarity, 087 provides 87% clarity and 091 provides 91% clarity when powered on. All three are available with the 0505 and 0606 constructions.
Can Smart Glass be installed on existing glass?
