How Smart Film Works
Smart Film is a PDLC (polymer dispersed liquid crystal) layer laminated between protective films and bonded to glass. A low-voltage supply changes how light passes through that layer.
The crystals scatter the light
With no power applied, the liquid crystals sit in random alignment. Light entering the panel is diffused, so the glass appears frosted and the view through it is obscured.
The crystals align and light passes through
When the low-voltage supply is switched on, the crystals align. Light passes through with far less scattering, and the glass appears clear.

Private mode diffuses the view rather than blocking daylight, so rooms stay bright. Because the film is clear only while powered, the glass returns to private mode if the supply is interrupted.
Switched by Remote or Wall Switch
No app is required and there are no moving parts. A single press changes the whole panel, and the film returns to private mode whenever the supply is off.
