What Is Smart Glass?

Smart glass, also known as switchable glass or PDLC glass, is a type of glass that changes from transparent to opaque when electricity is applied. It provides instant privacy without curtains or blinds.
Inside the glass panel, a PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) film layer reacts to electrical current. When powered on, the liquid crystals align and allow light to pass through, making the glass clear. When powered off, the crystals scatter light, turning the glass opaque.
Smart glass is commonly used in offices, meeting rooms, clinics, hotels, and residential spaces where privacy and natural light are both important.
